Municipal Infrastructure Design
Traffic Calming for Rocky Hill, NJ
Washington Street is the main street of this 19th century village and is also a busy regional county road. These design interventions improved the safety of pedestrians, reduced the speed of traffic and enhanced the character of the Rocky Hill Historic District. We did a study, proposed improvements at critical intersections, & examined the signage and 'gateways' in and out of the district. Our report contained proposals for design intervention to improve the community. We worked with the public, local council, traffic committee, and ultimately the county engineers who produced documents for construction and implemented the plan.
