Wayne Township Historic Society
The 19th century Nellis Farmhouse dates from the time that the township was incorporated.  It was, however, neglected by the municipality that owned it. Concerned citizens asked us to show an affordable housing plan that would preserve the historic house and use it as a centerpiece for the development.   Preserving one of the last farmhouses left in the Preakness Valley also preserves public knowledge of the farming heritage in this community.
